Aura Technology appoints Head of AI to lead strategy and rollout

Aura Technology, the IT managed services provider with offices in Abingdon and Southampton, has appointed Adam Galfskiy as its new Head of AI.

Adam, who joined Aura back in 2019, will lead the business and its customers through a pragmatic, people-centred AI programme focused on measurable outcomes and security by design.

“AI should make someone’s day demonstrably better, not just add another tool,” he explained. “We’ll start inside Aura and prove it first.”

Acting as customer zero, Aura will validate outcomes, governance and user experience in-house before wider rollouts.
Early work will centre on Microsoft Copilot in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), backed by readiness checks, clear use-case design and hands-on training.

“Switching it on isn’t a strategy,” Adam noted. “We’ll map real tasks to Copilot, measure results and build confidence through training and practice.”

His aim is to embed security from day one through an approach combining data compliance, usage monitoring and user training – a triangle that enables innovation without exposing sensitive information. Public-facing bots will be segmented and sandboxed to mitigate threats such as prompt injection.

As more staff informally try AI tools (known as shadow AI), Aura will help organisations get visibility and set sensible guardrails. “It’s like BYOD on steroids,” Adam said. “We used to control devices coming into the network; now we also need to control how data can flow out to third-party AI tools. With the right policies and training, you get the productivity without the risk.”

Tim Walker, Managing Director at Aura Technology, said: “I’ve worked with Adam for more than 10 years. He’s exactly the person you want leading an AI practice: deeply technical, people-focused and relentlessly practical. He’ll develop and lead an AI offering that delivers real outcomes for our customers.”

“I’ve been hands-on with AI since the early GPT days and fascinated by the science behind it for two decades,” Adam added. “I can’t wait to turn that curiosity into safe, everyday results for our team and our customers.”
