Fluff Software, a Swindon-based software company, is officially celebrating its 6th birthday, marking six years of helping organisations turn big ideas into brilliant digital products.
Founded by Scott Gulliver in October 2019, Fluff has grown from a solo venture into a growing, tight-knit team. Over the past six years, it has built everything from internal platforms for engineering firms, management systems for training providers, and digital apps and websites for visitor attractions, charities, and local councils – all designed with one goal: to solve the right problem, simply.
Fluff has become known for helping clients make sense of big ideas, crafting human-centred designs, and delivering work that feels genuinely collaborative from day one.
“It’s been an incredible six years,” says founder Scott Gulliver. “We’ve been trusted with so many brilliant ideas, and watching them come to life and create real-world impact, has been hugely rewarding.”
Software That’s Built With Care
Fluff’s projects span sectors, but share a common theme: making technology useful, meaningful, and enjoyable to use.
One thing that’s helped set Fluff apart is its commitment to early-stage clarity. Their Discovery Workshops are now a key part of how they help clients test, plan, and design smart solutions before a single line of code is written.
“Other software agencies often just build what you ask for, with very little conversation beforehand,” said one client. “Fluff differs in a huge way as they help you figure out what you actually need, meaning no wasted time or money on projects that you don’t actually need.”
Homegrown Innovation: The Story of Huntly
In 2023, Fluff launched its own in-house product: Huntly – a free scavenger hunt app that turns ordinary walks into real-world adventures for families.
Huntly encourages kids to explore nature, earn badges, and spend time with their grown-ups – reducing screen time while boosting connection, curiosity, and wellbeing.
The app has now reached over 4,000 users and has partnered with many attractions across the UK, such as Farmer Palmers, Fairytale Farm, and Mendip, to help bring extra magic for guests.
It has also partnered with Swindon Borough Council to create a trail in Wichelstowe – helping new families explore their area in a fun, engaging way.
What began as a side project quickly became something bigger: a tool for local discovery, environmental learning, and family connection.
Celebrating Growth and Recognition
Over the past couple of years, Fluff’s work has been recognised across multiple awards programmes including:
- Winner: Using Tech to Transform Business (TBE Awards 2024)
- *Finalist: Innovation Award *(TBE Awards 2024, For Huntly)

- *Winner: Leisure & Tourism Award *(SouthWest Awards 2024, for Huntly)
- Finalist: Business Leader of the Year (South West Awards 2024, for Scott Gulliver)
These nominations celebrate not just the software delivered, but the approach behind it, thoughtful, agile, and user-focused.
A New Office, A Renewed Focus
Earlier this year, Fluff moved into its new North Swindon office – a space built for collaboration, creativity, and clearer boundaries between work and home. The space has already become a hub for new ideas.
The team also continues to run Swindon Software, a free community meetup for developers and digital professionals. Led and hosted by Scott, the group now has over 370 members, welcoming guest speakers from across the UK tech scene, creating space for learning, support, and connection.
Trusted by Brilliant Clients
Across the years, Fluff has worked with many organisations of all shapes and sizes, from global engineering institutions and national education bodies, to charities, councils, and start-ups with big ambitions.
Clients like Enginuity, ECITB, EAL, Team Teach, and SGMF have trusted Fluff to design and deliver systems that not only meet technical requirements but also solve real operational challenges.
Whether it’s improving safety in marine refuelling, launching a digital training platform, or refreshing a web presence, Fluff’s focus remains the same: make it useful, make it clear, and make it work.
As Fluff turned six, the team is feeling deeply grateful for the clients who’ve trusted them, the partners who’ve collaborated with them, the community that’s cheered them on, and the people inside Fluff who’ve shaped what the company is today.
Fluff didn’t set out to be the biggest agency in the room. It set out to make a genuine difference, one well-built project at a time. And looking ahead, Fluff is as energised as ever, doing what they’ve always done, showing up, building thoughtfully, and turning great ideas into working wonders.
