Reading Buses were shocked to hear that they had achieved an historic ‘threepeat’ at the Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport (CILT) Awards last night, Thursday 25 September. The bus company retaining their Passenger Transport Award for a second time and completing the so-called ‘threepeat’ – winning the same award three times in a row.
The awards were held at the world-famous Silverstone racetrack, the scene of many famous triumphs which now includes Reading Buses’ win.
The company were up against stiff competition once more – with the Rail Delivery Group and the The Intalink Enhanced Partnership, Hertfordshire County Council also shortlisted. However, once again, the local, municipal bus company came out on top.
The judges felt there was a great deal of good practice that deserves to be replicated elsewhere. It was an industry leading example of local stakeholder engagement in terms of marketing, community initiatives, service provision and innovation launch events.
Said Robert Williams, Reading Buses’ Chief Executive Officer; “We are honoured, as well as shocked, to win for a third time in a row and complete the threepeat. This is something we didn’t expect, but it proves that what we are doing matters not only to our customers, but also to the industry.”
“Our motto is that we want to connect people and places with an amazing team – and we certainly do that. We have the best people giving the best service – both on the road and behind the scenes. We really couldn’t deliver for our customers without our amazing team.”
