The launch of the UK’s new industrial strategy signals a more active and ambitious role for government in driving long-term growth, productivity, and innovation. In line with this, the Commission’s report provides a roadmap towards unlocking a potential £82 billion in productivity gains over five years, including workable, high-impact reforms across key areas like digital infrastructure, health, skills, transport, and housing. No major overhauls or huge public spending required – just smart, evidence-based interventions that could empower businesses and encourage growth.
