Reading Buses supports Armed Forces Day

Reading Buses have announced that they are supporting Armed Forces Day by offering free travel to service personnel and veterans.

Local bus company Reading Buses are offering free travel to Armed Forces personnel, including veterans, on Armed Forces Day which this year falls on Saturday 28 June.

Any service person in full uniform or displaying a medal or veteran’s badge can get free travel on all Reading Buses and Thames Valley Buses services and on Newbury & District services 1a/1c and 730/731.

Said Robert Williams, Reading Buses’ Chief Executive Officer; “We are proud to support Armed Forces Day this year by offering free travel to service personnel and veterans. They can just get on the bus and if they are in uniform or displaying a medal or veteran’s badge, the driver will issue them with a free ticket. It’s nice and simple and a gesture to say thanks to the men and women who keep us safe.”

The company say this is an extension to their annual offer for free travel during Remembrance weekend in November.
