Industrial Electronic Wiring Ltd (IEW), a leading Swindon-based electronics manufacturer, was pleased to welcome Will Stone, MP for North Swindon, to its factory recently following a Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (TVCC) facilitated Political Working Lunch .
The visit offered a valuable opportunity for the IEW team to showcase their work in the electronics sector and discuss the importance of local manufacturing to the UK economy. Managing Director Duncan Game commented, “It was a good opportunity to share what we do in the electronics industry and talk about the role local manufacturing plays in supporting the UK economy. It additionally provided business with an opportunity to raise concerns about the recent National Insurance changes and other challenges for business.”
The visit was supported by the TVCC. Tim Major, Senior Account Manager at the Chamber, praised IEW, saying, “Duncan Game and the IEW team are a great example , growing manufacturing business that’s engaging proactively with policymakers. The team are not only showcasing the strength of Swindon industrial base, but also highlighting the importance of government support for local businesses-something the Chamber continues to champion”.
Duncan further commented “I felt that Will was generally interested in our story, and we are delighted to play a part”.
The visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen dialogue between government representatives and the local business community, ensuring the challenges and opportunities faced by manufacturers like IEW are heard and understood.
