Swindon-based healthcare group Wasdell has strengthened teams across the business with key appointments in order to underpin and maintain the growth and development of the company.
Group Finance Director Christopher Baylis joins Wasdell after having previously worked as an advisor to the firm. Christopher has run his own chartered accountancy practice for the last 20 years, however with a keen interest in the healthcare sector, plus the experience of sitting on the board of many other firms, he is ideally placed to help lead the business to the next level.
Christopher said: “Wasdell is at the start of an exciting new period of growth and I’m pleased to be joining to play my part in guiding the company through to meet these goals. Wasdell has a very good finance team already in place, to which I bring my knowledge of a range of regulatory healthcare businesses, plus experience of over 20 years of running my own practice. Our projected growth and diversification of services should drive the company to the next level.”
Patient safety and consistently excellent and high quality products also continues to be a focus with key appointments across the Quality and Validation teams.
Precious Emovon has been appointed as Head of Quality and Natalia Teixeira has joined as Validation Officer. These teams are involved in all aspects of production at Wasdell and ensure that that all medicines and products are consistently of the same high quality to maintain patient safety, as well as ensuring the equipment is set up and performing to the customer’s specified standard and working as checked and validated for the particular product on the line and to the capacity required.
Precious, who brings with him a number of years in pharmaceutical consulting from across UK and Europe, including for some of the biggest names in the industry, commented: “We have systems in place to ensure that everything we package is done in a compliant manner, in accordance with our clients’ expectations and to all applicable regulatory standards. This is highly important to ensure product quality and the safety of all persons who will be using and/or consuming the product.
“Thanks to the range of work that Wasdell undertakes, there’s lots of variety to the role and each day I never know exactly what I’ll be dealing with. With Wasdell’s range of products, there is a huge responsibility to get things right, `first time, every time’. Wasdell presents an opportunity to utilise my years of experience and knowledge in guiding my team, towards attaining the consistent quality outcomes our clients and the end customers expect.”
Chemist Natalia Teixeira, who holds a Masters in Production Management, joined Wasdell as Production Operative in November 2020 and has been fast-tracked through Wasdell in order to harness her experience and skills that she has brought with her through her previous roles as a Quality Technician for Heineken Brewery and Quality Assurance Analyst at Citrosuco, which is one of the largest exporters of orange juice in the world.
Natalia said: “The pharmaceutical sector is an exciting place to work and there are plenty of opportunities at Wasdell. I’m really enjoying it as I come across new challenges every day and have been supported to find a role in the company which suits my skills and background, as well as helping me take my career to the next level.”
