Now in its eighth year, this annual volunteering event brings together colleagues and SEGRO supply chain to contribute to charitable causes that improve the local environment and the health and wellbeing of the community.
As part of its Responsible SEGRO commitment to creating a positive socio-economic impact in the regions where it operates, SEGRO supported 11 community projects across the Thames Valley, Greater London and West Midlands.
These initiatives address specific local needs, creating a meaningful and lasting impact on the communities.
Neil Impiazzi, Partnership Development Director at SEGRO, said: “Our annual Day of Giving is just one example of how we continually strive to make a positive impact in our communities. This year saw an exceptional turnout, with a record number of volunteers participating.
“Giving back is vital to our success as a business, which is why there is no limit to the number of days our employees can volunteer throughout the year. We are dedicated to creating and delivering tailored programs to help meet the needs of our local communities.”
Activities on the day across SEGRO’s portfolio included:
DASH, Slough
- For over 45 years, DASH has been supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse. As part of our Day of Giving, colleagues supported the charity across three projects, helping to redecorate safe houses, tidying up gardens and pruning trees to create a welcoming environment for those in need, as well as supporting fundraising activities.
Recycled Teenagers, Slough
- Recycled Teenagers aims to bring joy and companionship to the elderly, addressing their physical, emotional, and mental health needs. Colleagues recently visited the Britwell centre to host a coffee morning and games.
Salt Hill Park, Slough
- Managed by Slough Borough Council, Salt Hill Park is a popular recreation space within the town. Colleagues helped to enhance the area’s biodiversity by removing rubbish, clearing vegetation around the stream, and cutting back overgrowth.
Wexham Park Hospital, Slough
- Wexham Park Hospital serves the wider Berkshire community. Colleagues spent the day assisting in the café and enhancing the intensive care unit gardens by painting furniture, removing rubbish and removing moss contributing to a more welcoming environment for staff, patients, and visitors alike.
In addition, SEGRO has held its second annual financial stakeholder Day of Giving, where shareholders, sell-side analysts and financial advisors came together to volunteer for a good cause. Representatives from organisations including BNP Paribas Exane, UBS and AXA spent the day with SEGRO and charity partner Groundwork clearing vegetation and rubbish from around a pond, cutting back overgrown bushes along pathways and clearing up litter at Deerwood Park in Slough.
