RSM South has announced four new promotions to director, highlighting the firm’s continued investment into the growth and development of talent from within its own ranks.
The Southern region has strengthened its audit faculty, with the promotion of Jo Burns in audit technical (Gatwick) and Konrad Bukowski-Kruszyna in audit data analytics (Gatwick). The consulting practice also saw two promotions – Tiaan Fourie and James Cope, both in accounting and business advisory in Guildford.
The newly appointed Southern directors are among 25 promotions to director across RSM, spanning the firm’s network of 31 offices. Hundreds more staff have been promoted as RSM aims to become a first-choice employer of highly skilled people, and a leading adviser to middle market firms globally.
In addition, the region has recruited a record high of 118 new students in 2023, up from its previous record intake of 114 in 2022. The Reading office accounted for the highest number of trainees (37); closely followed by Southampton (32); then Gatwick (25) and Guildford (24). Across the UK, the leading audit, tax and consulting firm recruited a record high of 769 new students in 2023, surpassing its previous record intake in 2022 (723) by 6%. The trainees will be spread across audit, tax, corporate finance, risk, restructuring advisory, consulting and outsourcing.
Paul Anthony, regional managing partner in the South at RSM UK, said: ‘I’m delighted to announce this fantastic group of newly promoted directors in the South. At a time of economic uncertainty and pressure, this makes it even more rewarding that we’ve been able to promote these individuals, who have achieved this through their hard work and dedication. We prioritise investing in and supporting our teams, so they are equipped with future skills to allow them to thrive. It also means we can deliver a premium culture that is responsive to the everchanging needs of our middle market clients.
‘This year marks our largest cohort of new trainees, as we continue investing in our people to help us achieve our long-term growth ambitions. It’s an exciting time to be joining RSM, and I know first-hand that the firm will give these individuals a rewarding career as they get to work with talented teams across a wide range of industries and service lines. Our focus is to strengthen and expand our presence in the region and that starts by having the right people onboard. I look forward to seeing the significant impact that our newly promoted colleagues and trainees will have in their new roles.’
RSM’s emphasis on attracting more who choose a career in professional services straight from school as an alternative to attending university remains a key focus.
RSM UK offers trainees a range of further opportunities from technical development to participation in charitable activity, and sponsorship of the Duke of Edinburgh Gold award.
