Newbury College helping businesses elevate their workforce

In a landscape where attracting and retaining top talent is a paramount concern for organisations worldwide, a recent study conducted by LinkedIn revealed a compelling statistic: 94% of employees expressed their likelihood to remain with their current employer if provided with opportunities for professional development. This illuminating finding underscores the critical role that investment in employee growth plays in fostering loyalty and commitment within the workforce.

As businesses continue to navigate the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the imperative to nurture and retain talent has never been more pronounced. Tim Major, Senior Account Manager, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, highlights this pressing need: “Consistently, since COVID, employers have stressed the pains of attracting and retaining staff.”

In response to these challenges, Newbury College is proud to announce an upcoming online event designed to address the strategies and best practices for enhancing employee engagement and retention. This interactive session will feature insightful discussions and expert perspectives aimed at empowering organizations to elevate their workforce.

  • 9:35 am – Key Findings from the Q1 2024 Quarterly Economic Survey: Tim Major, Senior Account Manager, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, will provide valuable insights into recruitment and talent trends.
  • 9:45 am – Elevate Your Workforce Panel Debate: Engage with industry experts including Paulina Ojo, Development Coach & Course Leader- BA (Hons) Management at University Centre Newbury; Tim Major, Senior Account Manager, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce; Khushi Ashwin, a current student studying at University Centre Newbury; and Dr. Jo Houghton, Vice Principal HE and Skills, Newbury College & University Centre Newbury.
