Course Overview: The Low Carbon Heating Apprenticeship course covers a wide range of skills essential for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of zero carbon central heating and hot water systems. From selecting and sizing components to diagnosing and repairing faults, apprentices will gain hands-on experience working with cutting-edge technologies such as Ground and Air Source Heat Pumps and Solar Thermal Collectors.
Apprentices will learn to work on both new build and existing properties, mastering the installation, service, and repair of zero carbon heating and hot water appliances, storage vessels, pipework, heat emitters, and associated components. Additionally, they will develop expertise in the mechanical and electrical control systems that form the backbone of sustainable heating solutions.
