IBB Law LLP Wins Prestigious Young Property Person Award Two Years in a Row

Machelle Jan was recognised as the Young Property Person of the Year during an evening of celebrations at the Business Magazine 2022 Thames Valley Property Awards at the Pavilion, Ascot Racecourse, on 16 November.

Machelle is a Senior Associate in IBB Law’s Residential Development Team within one of the largest Real Estate legal teams in the Region.

Machelle was shortlisted due to the variety and complexity of the work that she undertakes. Her portfolio of clients include the UK’s largest privately owned property company, a national PLC housebuilder and a large UK-wide family-owned construction company. She advises on transactions with values often in excess of £100m. Her clients also include a wide range of developers and housing associations.  Machelle advises on all aspects of the development cycle including complex land acquisitions, planning and sales of affordable housing and private dwellings. She advises on a variety of structures for progressing such transactions including conditional contracts, promotion and option agreements, and overage arrangements.

Machelle said of her win: “I am honoured to win this award, particularly given the calibre of the other finalists in this category. I am privileged to have worked with some exceptional clients over the past 12 months. I am also very proud to be part of such a wonderful team and thank them for all the support and encouragement that have contributed to this”.

Joanna DeBiase, Managing Partner of IBB Law commented: “I am delighted that Machelle has won this award and that IBB Law has retained the title of Young Property Person. We have one of the largest Real Estate teams in the region and it gives me great pleasure  to be part of the development of the next generation of up-and-coming talented lawyers. Well done to Machelle and the team”.
