Created by business start-up experts Outset, The Foundry aims to provide ambitious business owners with the support they need, but who may otherwise be unable to afford or access it.
Based out of The Workshed in Swindon, successful business owners who join The Foundry enrol on a three-month programme in which they get the use of free office space, complimentary business advice and mentorship.
“The Foundry is a fantastic place for new or start-up businesses. I attended The Foundry to help build business maturity in my company and build some strong foundations for growth going forward. I gained some key contacts in specific areas of business development which has allowed me to put a strong strategy in place ready for 2023. I would highly recommend this to anyone, the hardest part of growth is allowing yourself the time to plan and gaining the right support to point you in the right direction, this is where the Foundry is invaluable!” – Matthew Drew, Electrobikes LTD.
The first cohort of The Foundry ran from September – December 2022 coaching businesses from a diverse group of industries through education, mentorship, and exposure to a network of contacts. During their time at The Foundry the group saw immense growth both personally and, in their business, with 75% of the group doubling (or more) their monthly turnover.
Aurelie Soulier of digital education firm edtechuman, said she initially came to The Foundry because of the space and help it offered, but soon discovered there was even more to it. She explained: “It is the connection with other businesses, the opportunities to think about my business in different ways.”
During the programme the power of group networking also shone through, with many participants choosing to lend their expertise to their colleagues. Lewis Grey of Clera Coms said: “I didn’t have any connections locally when I started my business, so to come to a place where there were other businesses starting in Swindon and get support and the excellent help I’ve had, has been completely invaluable to me.”
The second cohort of Foundry members are already halfway through the programme and are reaping the benefits the accelerator provides, all for free.
There is once again an opportunity for business owners to join the three-month programme starting in April 2023, and anyone interested can apply via the website. www.theworkshed.co.uk/thefoundry/
