Berkshire Youth receives #iwill Funding to support local young people

Berkshire Youth is delighted to announce an award of £9,815.86 from the #iwill Fund.

The funding has been awarded to engage young people aged 10-15, encouraging them to be involved with, and lead, youth social action projects at Waterside Centre in Newbury. They’ll be supported throughout the project to help them develop skills and competencies, as well as the opportunity to complete a range of accredited training including Youth Achievement Awards and Level 1 Youth Leadership Qualifications.

The #iwill Fund is made possible thanks to £66 million joint investment from The National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to support young people to access high quality social action opportunities. Sovereign Housing Association is acting as a match funder and awarding grants on behalf of the #iwill Fund.

The #iwill Fund supports the aims of the #iwill movement – to make involvement in social action a part of life for young people, by recognising the benefit for both young people and their communities.
