Hi, I’m Hugo Cox of 5HC Systems. I am passionate about processes and doing anything that make businesses operate better, either by improving existing processes and systems or putting new ones in place. I strive to do things as efficiently as possible in everyday life too, from getting around the supermarket to unloading the dishwasher (yes, sad I know)! My varied career includes roles like managing paintball sites, commanding troops in Helmand Province in Afghanistan, consulting in the MOD, H&S Quality and Environment Director for a construction company and a group operations manager. These have given me an excellent overview of the core business functions and things that do and don’t work in different types of organization, and ultimately led me to start my own business. Away from work I love being outside or in my garage making things like log burners, fire pits, pizza ovens and barbecues out of whatever I can scrounge from gas bottles to 3 phase electric motor casings. I am hopeless at sitting still and doing nothing, but that works out pretty well as I have 3 small kids who wouldn’t give me the chance to even if I wanted to!
