Thames Valley Chamber flying the flag for Buckinghamshire with a new marketing campaign

Buckinghamshire New University, BP Collins, Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Instron were just some of the Bucks based businesses attending the highly anticipated ‘Made in Bucks’ campaign launch, held at the Holiday Inn, High Wycombe. The Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce event, which was strongly supported by the local community including representatives from the Buckinghamshire Chamber Council promises to showcase the success of local, regional and international businesses based or founded in the County.

Speaking at the launch Ginette Gower, Head of Marketing & Communications, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce and Made in Bucks spokesperson outlined the plan for the campaign highlighting how Bucks based businesses could get involved: “Response to the campaign has been fantastic and we are already getting calls from members keen to participate. A bi-monthly e-newsletter will bring together case studies, hot topics on Bucks news, business tips and thought leadership views as well as details on upcoming events. The campaign will be supported with a comprehensive social media programme.

“Made in Bucks themed balloons and cupcakes were especially prepared for the launch and proved very popular with visitors as did the glasses of Bucks Fizz being handed out!”

The action packed event was also the setting for an exclusive preview of a video case study with spokespeople from BP Collins, Mediplus and 3D Systems Europe discussing their individual journeys as Bucks based business and showcasing their work.

Attendees included leading provider of test equipment for material and structural testing markets Instron. Harriet Downes, Marketing Communications Coordinator at Instron Ltd commented: “Our products made in the UK are actually ‘Made in Bucks’! We thoroughly enjoyed being part of such a positive event and it has helped us show how we can work with and support local organisations.” The company runs many highly successful programmes including apprenticeship, graduate and internships programmes for students.

Charity Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) were also in attendance. The organisation provides vital services and help rebuild lives for those suffering with a spinal cord injury. Sophie Davis, PR & Marketing Officer, further added: “It was great to be involved with the Made in Bucks launch. We are continuing to spread the word about SIA across Buckinghamshire and support those with spinal cord injuries.”

Whilst Bekki James, Corporate Fundraising Manager from the Thames Valley Air Ambulance said: “It was fantastic to see that the Chamber of Commerce actively supporting the diverse businesses in Bucks for the benefit of the Bucks. This was a fun and informal event and we liked it!”

President of the Buckinghamshire Chamber Council, Mike Watson, ended with: “Great Made in Bucks launch event in Wycombe. Well done Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce.”
