Our Japanese Partner Chamber – Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI)
For over 10 years, we have had a close working partnership with the OCCI in the Kansai Region in Japan, the second largest economy in Japan, and which includes many famous large cities such as Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto.
This strong relationship culminated in a Memorandum of Understanding of Trade & Investment co-operation, signed between the Chamber and OCCI in October 2014, resulting in trade delegations visits and new business opportunities.
We are delighted to be promoting the World Expo to our members, wider business community and through the network of Accredited Chambers of Commerce in the UK. Acting as a hub, we will highlight the many opportunities available, enabling businesses across the region and beyond, to understand more about Osaka 2025.
Working with the Japanese Embassy, META and the OCCI, through a calendar of local and regional events and activities, we will be highlighting the benefits of networking and promotion in the months leading to the World Expo in 2025.
World Expo 2025 Launch Event
The Chamber recently launched their Osaka Expo 2025 programme of activity, at Konami Digital Entertainment B.V in Windsor, with Ambassador Hayashi from the Embassy of Japan in the UK.
The event was attended by about 30 representatives of local businesses in the Thames Valley, including Japanese companies, and was designed to build momentum for 2025 Expo and to further promote business and investment between Japan and UK.
What is the World Expo
The World Expo is one of the oldest and largest events on the planet. Every five years, a city takes its turn to host the Expo, for the duration of 6 months, providing a arena for the host and the participating nations to showcase the best they have to offer.

The World Expo also has a lasting impact on the host city and country, transforming its urban landscape, boosting its economy and tourism, and enhancing its international reputation and relations.
