Job Summary:

The Account Manager is responsible for providing a first class, quality support to a defined segment of the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group members. Through exceptional key account management, the account manager will be expected to maintain retention of membership in line with specific targets as well as recruiting new businesses into the organisation.

Working closely with the head of membership, account managers, and other key departments, the role includes the development and delivery of a strong, relevant and regular events program. The role also requires exceptional account management, organisational and interpersonal skills to ensure that members are engaged in a consistent and timely manner.

The role requires close working with the policy and inward investment (PII) team to help develop named local Chamber Advisory Groups who act as ambassadors for the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce group in their respective local areas.

 

Principle Objectives:

1. To maintain retention of a portfolio of members through effective account management to agreed targets, including;

  • Monitoring and managing an agreed portfolio of accounts through email, telephone and face to face meetings.
  • Recruiting new businesses to join the Chamber of Commerce in line with individual monthly targets.
  • Identifying and being alert to members who may not be engaged and those who may potentially withdraw.
  • Processing upgrades to other membership tiers.
  • To provide support and cover team members when required.
  • Working with the Data and Procedures manager to ensure the member data remains up-to-date
  • Provide monthly reporting to the Head of Members services.

2. Working with the marketing department to develop and deliver a successful portfolio of relevant and appealing business events;

  • Ensuring event numbers are consistently strong.
  • Working closely with the events and marketing team to ensure the events are effectively promoted.
  • Attend and host business networking events when required.

3. To work closely with the Policy and Inward Investment (PII) team to manage a designated group of Local Chamber Advisory Groups;

  • Working closely with the policy team and local President to grow each group to ensure that each group is effectively represented.
  • Identify and approach guest speakers to attend events and any Area Chamber meetings.
  •  Help identify, alongside the PII team, key local consultations and issues of relevance for the Area Chambers to scrutinise and respond to in a timely fashion.
  •  Be the first and only point of contact for all membership matters.
  • Help ensure Area Chambers remain effective and outcome focused and, between meetings, lead on the delivery and progression of the agreed action points, tasks, etc.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the quality delivery of international trade services portfolio to members & clients.

In particular; taking responsibility for the processing of import and export customs declarations, import and export documentation and letter of credit services in accordance with the rules set out by the governing bodies and guidelines. Ensure a high level of customer care is maintained and all TVCC procedures and practices are adhered to.

 

Principle Objectives:

  • To certify EC Certificates of Origin and related export documents.
  • To process Arab-British Certificates of Origin and related documents.
  • To authenticate trade preference documents.
  • To complete Export & Import Customs declaration as part of the national ChamberCustoms service.
  • To provide a comprehensive Letter of Credit services for clients.
  • To supply and authenticate International Import Certificates.
  • Provision of service cover for other TVCC international trade offices location as required.
  • To provide additional International Trade services as appropriate.
  • To answer enquiries received by telephone, email & face to face in a professional manner.
  • To complete financial, statistical and data records to the required standards & deadlines.
  • To maintain high level of customer care. 

 
Principal Responsibilities:

  • To take responsibility for the supply and authentication of EC Certificates of Origin and related documents, in accordance with the Certification Procedures rules, including electronic certificates.
  • To receive, verify and pass documents to the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce.
  • To take responsibility for authenticating Trade Preference documents in accordance with HM Revenue & Customs guidelines.
  • To complete Customs Declarations relating to import and exports as part of the national ChamberCustoms service in accordance with the HMRC requirements.
  • To provide a comprehensive letter of credit service to clients in accordance with the International Chamber of Commerce Uniform Customs & Practice for Documentary Credits guidelines.
  • To take responsibility for the supply and authentication of International Import Certificates in accordance with DIT guidelines.
  • To use knowledge gained to answer customer queries or signpost to appropriate agency.
  • To keep abreast of developments in the field of International Trade and pass on these developments to customers where appropriate.
  • To maintain relationships with the other Chambers, Government agencies, suppliers, Consular agents, freight forwarders, members & other ITS clients.
  • To assist the Head of International Trade & Compliance, Office Managers and other colleagues with duties as required.
  • To complete accounting, statistical & data procedures to the required standards & deadlines.
  • To maintain a high standard of customer care at all times.
  • To professionally represent the organisation as required.
  • Undertake any other duties as required.
