Home Policy and Lobbying

The Independent Voice of Business

The Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group is the independent voice of business across the Thames Valley, and along the M4 corridor into Swindon. It represents some 250,000 employees from within 2,000 businesses.

Lobbying on behalf of business on topics such as skills and education, business crime and business rates, the Chamber of Commerce gives its members a voice to influence decision-making, at a national, regional and local level. The overriding objective is to ensure that businesses are better able to compete both in the UK and overseas.

Western Access to Heathrow

The Thames Valley region is the place to do business. Its vibrancy and dynamism must be maintained to enable us to: attract new business and entrepreneurs, create jobs, provide world-class services and excel in trade and exports.

To fully represent the views of business, the Chamber runs a number of policy-making committees, forums and events. These groups are made up of members with a particular interest in, and specialist knowledge of, an issue. See events calendar

The policy team regularly asks for member views through business surveys, questionnaires, discussion groups and briefings so that the voice of businesses is heard by local, regional and national government.

What’s more, the Chamber also meets with Government ministers on a regular basis to discuss key issues emerging from our high-level Windsor Debates.
