More Information:
Oxfordshire Chamber of Commerce, in association with our hosts and sponsors Blake Lapthorn, established the forum back in 2007. Since then, it has played a key role in the area, enabling businesses to address the complete range of land-based issues with particular focus on property and planning.
An excellent buffet lunch will be provided at 12:00 noon. This will be followed by keynote and project presentations on issues of interest to business. The Forum has already provided an opportunity for a wide range of professionals to come together with local government colleagues; to share knowledge, information and other best practice. Meetings are held at the offices of Blake Lapthorn, at Seacourt Tower, West Way, Oxford.
Although the Forum is primarily for Chamber of Commerce members, such is the popularity of these events that we have drawn a much wider audience, including professionals and political decision makers with an interest in property, planning and land.

We look forward to welcoming you to Seacourt Tower for some professional networking, a delicious buffet lunch and some excellent and relevant presentations, all designed to add to your stock of knowledge of both the local and the regional property scene.
This month’s presentations will give Oxfordshire Property Professionals a valuable insight into two of the region’s key issues – how to increase the stock of affordable housing and how to reduce the environmental impact of the business recovery.
Firstly, Oliwia Milek, Project Officer at The LoCUS Project will explain the latest thinking on reducing the carbon footprint of existing business properties, as well as the incentives and rewards for getting involved. We will also look at the challenges to be faced over the next five years and see what is on offer in the way of pragmatic, “real world” solutions.
You will be sure to find ideas on how to save money, ideas on how to tackle your own situation and, last but not least, where to find local, free help & support!
Later, Tim Doherty, Managing Director of the National Self-Build & Renovation Centre will demonstrate that the notion of building your own home is a mainstream practice and enjoyed by many. This type of construction is increasingly popular all over Europe, the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
Although a persistent and vibrant contributor in this country, amazingly only 10-15% of the UK’s new housing stock is self procured. Tim will tell us who self builds, what challenges they have and why, in the next 10 years, this proportion could treble!
We look forward to welcoming you to Seacourt Tower for some professional networking, a delicious buffet lunch and some excellent and relevant presentations, all designed to add to your stock of knowledge of both the local and the regional property scene.
