More Information:

This lunch continues the Chamber’s highly popular Business International Programme for 2010. The purpose of this programme of activity is to support the building of international business relationships, and factors which can have a major affect on your business.

The lunch will be invaluable for those who have an interest in knowing which European external business factors can have an impact on their company. And for those with the need to put forward a specific issue with a knowledgeable European practitioner. We will hear about investment opportunities in Europe and impending European changes that may impact upon business.

As well as this being a splendid lunch at the heart of Thames Valley businesses, at Thames Valley Park, this will also provide you with plenty of opportunity to mix with your corporate business counterparts from across the region.

We are delighted that Steve Baker MP will be our guest speaker at the Question Time Political Working Lunch on Friday 10th September 2010 at Microsoft’s Campus in Thames Valley Park.

Against the backdrop of the coalition government’s first four months in power, the lunch is a forum to discuss how the Thames Valley has benefited from new policies and to look ahead to 2011.

The government has published a credible plan to reduce the budget deficit and restore confidence; freeze the public sector wage bill & reform public pension; and started a systematic review of existing regulation affecting employers. But not so successful in stablising and de-politicising the planning systems, giving businesses confidence to invest.

This is an excellent opportunity to put forward a question on this or any other business or economic matter to our guest speaker who has a wealth of insight and experience.
