This lunch programme continues the Chamber’s highly popular Business International Programme for 2010. The purpose of this programme of activity is to support the building of international business relationships and factors which can have a major affect on your business. The Question Time Political Working Lunch was launched under this umbrella last year – with four successful lunches being staged.

Mr Sharma will talk about how the Thames Valley (and Reading) has weathered the economic storm. He will also cover: how he is supporting Reading’s local businesses – especially start ups; getting police back on the beat; making 2010 the year of change; and plans to Get Britain Working.

Alok is a qualified chartered accountant and has a range of work experience from working on a factory production line, being a company auditor, tutoring university students, running a business and advising companies. He is a member of the Royal society for the advancement of the Arts, Manufacturing and Commerce which, amongst its objectives, supports environmental initiatives which move us towards a zero-waste society. Previously he served as a chairman of the political think tank Bow Group’s economic affairs committee.
