J6-Slough Business Breakfast has been running for a number of years in Slough; becoming a cornerstone of the local business calendar. In 2009 it reached a record of 90 businesses in attendance, proving the event’s success in the area.

Informal but professional in its approach, the event is open to all businesses.

What’s more, each event sees carefully selected business speakers who impart their business knowledge.

A full English breakfast is served with tea and coffee.

Topic: How to Tender for Local Government Contracts

The tendering process is a daunting prospect often demanding lots of time resourses and occasionally a level of expenditure.

With an expert from the world of procurement this event is aimed at helping you plan, prepare, present and succeed in winning your next tender.

Jo Head, from Slough Borough Council will explain what is required from a local government point of view as well as giving hints and tips with regards to finding the tenders.

This event has been specially designed to help you win more business with local government.

About the speaker:

Joanna Head, assistant director for Commissioning, Procurement & Shared Services has been with Slough Borough Council for twelve months. Jo’s priorities include improving the procurement processes and procedures in support of the councils vision and values. Jo believes that efficiencies in procurement are fundamental in meeting the external constraints brought about by immediate, substantial and unavoidable pressures.

Prior to joining the council Jo had eight years private sector procurement experience working for both the TUI Group (Thomson Holidays) where she was global procurement manager and for Europe’s leading internet bank egg plc where she was contracts manager.
