Topic: The Future Competitiveness of the Thames Valley region

The Business Alliance programme for 2017 will focus on influencing the major issues of the current day. This activity will be led by the Windsor Debates focusing on ‘The Future Competitiveness of the Thames Valley region’. Senior executives from key businesses within the Thames Valley region will discuss issues such as skills, transport and digital infrastructure to help to identify future requirements for the region in order to remain a leading global centre for investment.

It is a pivotal year for the region with Article 50 expected to be triggered, confirmation of the Government’s decision on expansion of Heathrow Airport, and with a national economy that is predicted to grow at a slower pace with inflationary pressures.

Each debate will be led by a business leader with a particular knowledge and interest in that area.

The content from the day will be used to influence national and regional policymakers and guide our programme of activity for the rest of the year.
Windsor Debates is a twice yearly day long activity for a group of senior level business leaders to reflect and debate the major issues of the current day.


Friday 24th March
10.00 am Arrival and Registration
10.30 am Debates
16.30 pm Close of formal Debates

Optional evening:

17:15 pm Evensong in St George’s Chapel
18:00 pm Champagne Reception in The Dean’s Cloister
19:00 pm Dinner with Keynote speaker
21:30 pm Chapel Tour of St George’s Chapel
22:45 pm Informal nightcap with CEO

Saturday 25th March
08:00 Morning service (optional) St. George’s Chapel
08:00 Breakfast in St George House
09:30 Depart all

There are a limited number of rooms for guests to stay over within the Castle with breakfast included and the option of Morning Service in St George’s Castle.

NOTE: As there are stringent security procedures in place at Windsor Castle, via Met Police protocols, personal information for each guest needs to be obtained and forwarded two weeks in advance of the date of the event. Event Bookings will close 10th March 2017 at the very latest.

You will need to bring an official ID to gain access to the event on the day.

Please also note that Guard change will be from 10.45-11.25am. If you arrive in this time period the parade ground will be blocked and you wont have access to the event until the Guard change is over.
