Aylesbury Vale Overview
"My vision for the Aylesbury Vale Chamber
of Commerce is that it will become a vibrant club of enthusiastic
people who want to create a better business environment and
to help the local council bring new businesses to Aylesbury.
Aylesbury Vale has lots of issues that affect businesses on
a daily basis and I see the Chamber's role as dealing with
those issues, not so much the bigger problems."
Phil Smith, Aylesbury Vale Chamber of Commerce president
Aylesbury Vale is an exciting, dynamic and prosperous place
to do business. Since the 1960s, when Aylesbury itself was
primarily a market town, continued development around the
area has attracted an increasing number of businesses. Aylesbury's
population has doubled within the last 20 years. The replacement
of the old Cattle Market in the 1980s with office blocks reflects
Aylesbury's transformation into a large, commercially successful
town.
The Aylesbury Vale Chamber of Commerce has been present in
the area since the early 80's. It continues today to lobby
for the issues which the rapid growth of the Aylesbury Vale
area have created in order to make Aylesbury Vale a great
place to live and to do business. Town centre and street parking,
housing development and rail links are among the main issues
affecting Aylesbury Vale businesses.
The Aylesbury Vale Chamber of Commerce's main lobbying priorities
are currently:
- Transport
- Planning
- Business Security
- Skills Shortages
