Monday, 8th March 2010
Michael Coughlin, chief executive of Reading Borough Council, will provide an update on the council’s impact and interaction with the business community at this month’s Reading Business Lunch.
As the chief executive of Reading Borough Council, Michael supervises a £200m budget, over 3,500 employees, and a company that is not only a major employer in the town, but one that contributes significantly to the local economy.
Before taking up his post in April 2008, he was chief executive of Crawley Borough Council since 2002 and has 27 years of experience in local government.
At the event, Michael will focus on: business rates; planning and inward investment; transport; apprenticeships; public service spending cuts; the general election; and working with neighbouring councils (Wokingham, West Berks).
