Following careful deliberation by a team of judges, the winners and runners up of the Slough Chamber Awards were decided in January, and will be announced at a gala dinner, held at the Copthorne Hotel Slough/ Windsor on 25 February.
The Slough Chamber Awards will recognise and celebrate the achievements of businesses in the SL postcode area, from small sole traders to large blue chip organisations. It includes nine categories and is sponsored by some of the foremost businesses in the area, including O2, Kinnarps, SEGRO, Slough Borough Council, Polycom, Haines Watts, UK Trade and Investment, Owen White Solicitors, the SEGRO Enterprise Quarter and the Berkshire Media Group.
Welcoming Ricky Gervais lookalike, Tim Oliver, as the MC, the awards are set to attract over 200 of the area’s leading business figures and will include a charity auction with 100 per cent of the profit donated to Age Concern, Slough.
Commenting, Gavin Spencer, senior business manager for the Slough Chamber of Commerce, said: “The competition was rife for this year’s awards and we were impressed by the quality of nominations. The judges had a tough challenge in deciding upon the winners, but we are confident that the best business in each category has won.
“The Slough Chamber Awards is not just about celebrating the largest, wealthiest companies in the region, but rather to celebrate the success of all businesses, who have undoubtedly faced many challenges in 2009.
“Slough has a thriving business sector which contributes more than £8 billion to the national economy, and it’s time to recognise the organisations that have made the area such a success.”
