Rob Wilson, MP for Reading East, will discuss the issues affecting both economic and community development at the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group’s Reading Business Lunch, held at the pentahotel, Reading, on 23 September.
Having made a name for himself as an entrepreneur in Reading – building several businesses over the previous decade in the health and telecommunications sectors – Rob was elected as Member of Parliament in May 2005. He was then appointed Shadow Minister for higher education in July 2007. Following David Cameron’s reshuffle in January 2009, he was appointed to the Whip’s office.
At the event, Rob will touch on a topical parliamentary story and will provide an update on the issues affecting both economic and community development in Reading.
Commenting on the event Gary Cranford, business manager for the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group, said: “Rob is renowned for being committed to serving local people and bringing their views to Westminster. Regarding crime, education and immigration as three of the most important issues facing both Reading East and the country as a whole, Rob is sure to provide attendees with a highly informative insight into the subjects that have a real impact on business.
“Meanwhile, businesses will also have the opportunity to meet fellow professionals from the local area, allowing them the chance to network, build business intelligence and share best practice.”
