Types of Events
The amount of business SMEs win through referrals is estimated at 80 per cent. We are all far more likely to refer someone to another business when we have built a connection through personal contact and believe that the person we are recommending will do a good job. Although the marketing budget can go a long way in terms of increasing a company’s profile and in building a brand, the reputation you create through recommendations is invaluable.
On average, most of us know about 250 people. Networking is about meeting other people, establishing a level of trust and then building long term relationships. The Chamber of Commerce organises more than 200 events a year, all of which are designed to create opportunities for businesses across the region to network. While the aim to grow a network of contacts is common, different networkers prefer different environments in which to achieve this goal. Our events therefore vary in structure, theme and format in order to ensure members can find a forum which will suit their style of networking, helping bring them the results they are looking for. Our events are high value, low cost and deliver excellent return on investment.
- Local Themed Events
Our core events programme is a regular series of business breakfasts, lunches and networking that takes place in each Chamber area. Each event features a guest speaker, a member or local representative talking on a wide variety of topics including current affairs, economic issues, local authority updates, new products and innovation, new business trends and best practice.
