Tuesday, 28th August 2012
The largest UK-China One-to-One Business Matchmaking Event with more than 300 companies from China and UK expected takes place on Monday 17 September 2012 at the Copthorne Hotel, Slough-Windsor. Organised by Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, BCC LinkToChina and its strategic partners, the Conference is a national event designed to build relationships and discuss prospective business propositions.
The event will start with a plenary session from Minister Counsellor Zhou Xiaoming of the Chinese Embassy in London and Ministry of Commerce with a response from a UK Minister. UK and China speakers will set the scene from an industry stand point with contributions from LinkToChina major founding strategic partners BCC LinkToChina and CCPIT (Chinese Chambers of Commerce).
Kegang Wu, Executive Director, BCC LinkToChina said: “This is a unique opportunity, not only to meet Chinese companies face to face but to discover what is needed to do business successfully in China. There is commitment from leading trade and investment agencies in the UK and China to support the event and make a significant contribution to increasing UK-China partnerships.
Delegates will be able to learn and understand more about the Chinese market. More than that, the companies you meet will take your message and proposition back to their associates in China. Remember they have travelled 6,000 miles to meet you!”
Paul Briggs, Chief Executive, Thames Valley Chamber commented: “We are delighted to be hosting this important conference here in the Thames Valley. As we host the LinkToChina national office and regional hub and are near to Heathrow Airport, Slough is a natural location to bring businesses together to work towards mutual co-operation and business success. This will assist with exporting and inward investment opportunities.”
National Strategic Partners and Chinese delegates will form panel sessions to discuss topics of concerns with visiting Chinese companies, agents and distributors in areas such as legal, contractual, banking, accounting, taxation, visa & immigration, business networking, agents & distributors, employment & HR, training & education, property & development. Strategic partners will also be present at a service exhibition alongside the Conference.
One to one business match-making involves organised appointments between China and UK companies over a facilitated two-hour period. This session is for projects that have been pre-matched through the LinkToChina bulletins. However, new proposals will be welcome from UK companies who wish to participate and be supported by an interpreter if required.
There will be representatives from Chinese companies in industries such as automotive, biotech, construction, food & beverage, investment, local government, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, sport & leisure and technology.
There is also an Awards Dinner at the same venue. It is essential to book a place for both the Conference and the Dinner. For more information and to request a booking form please visit www.thamesvalleychamber.co.uk/events, email info@linktochina.org.uk or call 01753 870500.
